September, 2009 Sandra Huartado, Ran Liu and Sylvie Tchumtchoua received student travel award to attend the Space-time Analysis for Environmental Mapping, Epidemiology and Climate Change workshop by SAMSI in September, 2009.
August, 2009 Professor Joseph Glaz has become a fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). He will be receiving the award at the Joint Statistical Meeting in Washington DC in August 2009.
June, 2009 Brien Aronov and Shan Hu received the 2009 Quality and Productivity Research Conference Scholarship Award.
March 29, 2009 Sylvie Tchumtchoua have been selected as the recipient of the Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Award in 2009.
March, 2009 Professor Dipak Dey has become an elected member of the Connecticut Academy of Arts and Sciences.
March, 2009 Sylvie Tchumtchoua received the Mitofsky Fellowship from the Roper Center to pursue research on categorical variables in survey data.

August, 2008 Professor Nitis Mukhopadhyay received the 2008 Abraham Wald Prize in Sequential Analysis.
April 30, 2008 Dr. David Salsburg was awarded the Department of Statistics Distinguished Alumnus Award
April, 2008 Professor Joe Glaz received the AAUP Excellence in Research Award.
February 21, 2008 Professor Evarist Gine, Department of Mathematics, who holds a joint appointment with Department of Statistics, received the prestigious 2008 Provost Excellence in Research Award.
January, 2008 Wangang Xie received 2008 Pfizer Global Research & Development Student Fellowship.
January, 2008 Professor Dipak Dey has been named University of Connecticut Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor.
January, 2008 Professor Richard Bass from Department of Mathematics, who also holds a joint appointment in Department of Statistics, has been also named University of Connecticut Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor.
July, 2007 Balaji Raman, and Sourish Das, two students from Department of Statistics, University of Connecticut, became the Stat Bowl team winners.
August 2007 Ming-Hui Chen and Rick Vitale have been elected to Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. They will be honored at the IMS Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City.
